Dr. Mast completed her optometric education at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL where she earned her doctor of optometry degree in addition to a degree in vision science.
She completed an internship in contact lenses and specialty eye care where she focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of complex corneal and contact lens related conditions. Dr. Mast has experience in presbyopic, astigmatic, keratoconic, and post-surgical contact lens fitting and is also certified in orthokeratology.
Dr. Mast moved to Washington and completed a residency in primary care and geriatrics at the American Lake VA Medical Center in Lakewood. While working at the VA, she provided primary care including the diagnosis, treatment, and management of ocular disease, and low vision rehabilitation. Dr. Mast is also experienced in pre and post-operative surgical care, including cataract, LASIK, and glaucoma surgeries.
The National Board of Examiners in Optometry has certified Dr. Mast with Advanced Competence in Medical Optometry. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, Optometric Physicians of Washington, and the King County Optometric Society.
Dr. Mast provides comprehensive eye care with a gentle and personalized touch. She enjoys getting to know her patients and helping to guide them in making informed decisions regarding their medical care.
In her free time, Dr. Mast enjoys travelling, biking, and hiking alongside her husband and miniature schnauzer. She is also a member of the Cascade Bicycle Club and has participated in local bike events, including the annual Seattle to Portland bike ride.
In 2011 Dr. Mast joined NOSA (National Optometric Student Association) in providing eye exams and other eye care services to Jamaican people in need. This mission was extremely rewarding and an eye-opening experience.
